Port Chester resident Fabio Coutinho, 42, has been sentenced to eight years in state prison, followed by 15 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty to one count of criminal sexual act, a felony, earlier this year.

When he is released from prison, Coutinho will also have to register as a sexual offender. There will be a Sex Offender Registration Act at a later date to determine what sex offender level Coutinho will be designated.

On June 6 last year, Coutinho was working as a house painter inside a North Castle home, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said. While in the home, Coutinho admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with the minor, who immediately told her parents.

North Castle police detectives launched an investigation, and using DNA testing of both Coutinho and his victim, arrested Coutinho on Aug. 21 last year.
