Owners, Yonkers natives, Nick Califano and John Rubbo, opened their establishment in January 2015.
Walls display historical Yonkers photos, reflecting the owner's interest in the city's history, reported the New York Times.
The building a block away from the Hudson used to be a garage for trolleys and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, said the New York Times.
Califano and Rubbo had been friends growing up and re-connected following college, said The New York Times.
They started out as "home brewers" six years ago, according to The New York Times.
Yonkers Brewing Co. received a development grant from the city and supportive remarks in the article from Mayor Mike Spano: “I love the fact it’s there. I love the fact it says Yonkers. I love the fact that it’s a brewery. They have a tremendous amount of pride in Yonkers and it’s contagious," he told The New York Times.
An array of sandwiches, salads, small plates, tacos, burgers, eggs and desserts are all available at Yonkers Brewing Co., 92 Main St., Yonkers.
