YONKERS, N.Y. -- Ahead of open enrollment, health experts and advocates from the Young Invincibles and the Children's Defense Fund New York will give a presentation on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in New York state and its impact on young New Yorkers at Grinton I. Will Library on Monday, Oct. 20, from 10:30 a.m.-noon.
New York state has made great strides in reducing its uninsured rate for children – from 8 percent to less than 6 percent – since the NY State of Health opened for business. However, roughly 16 percent of young adults in New York are uninsured, and the uninsured rate among young Hispanics, ages 18-34, is 26 percent. This event is being hosted by the Children Youth & Families Task Force of Healthcare for All New York and is supported by a grant from The Atlantic Philanthropies.
To attend, contact Lorraine Gonzales-Camastra or Sarah Lovenheim to reserve a space at the event.
