Community AdvisorMount Vernon resident Derickson Lawrence has become a prominent figure in Westchester County. As the chairman of the Westchester County Homeowners' Coalition and Westchester County Crime Stoppers, Derickson can be found rallying support for causes that have yielded tangible results: ranging from crime mitigation, local education, tax cap symposiums, regional economic revitalization efforts, and basic quality of life issues. He is the founder and CEO of MarketView Resources, whose customers are in Mount Vernon and throughout eight states including Alaska. He served as the chairman of the Mount Vernon Housing Authority and as a trustee of the YWCA of Yonkers. Recently (2011-2013), he was the vice co-chair of the Westchester County Charter Revision Commission. His opinion pieces have been published in the New York Times, Westchester Business Journal, The Journal News, Westchester Tribune and Westchester Guardian. He has two grown daughters and a five-year old son.
