The newly opened store has an online banking station, the latest in ATM technology, and it features a mural of the city’s history, produced in conjunction with the local historical society.
It is also designed and built to the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver standards.
The store’s environmental features include the following:
- Energy savings of up to 21 percent and approximately 40 percent savings in water use
- Building materials composed of both post- and pre-consumer recycled content
- Not only do Envelope-Free ATMs eliminate the need for paper envelopes, but customers signed up for WellsFargo OnlineBanking can also get an electronic ATM receipt by e-mail instead of printing it.
“We’re thrilled about opening a modern store in Yonkers that serves the financial needs of local individuals, families and businesses,” said Eleanor Willets, Wells Fargo area president for Metro New York.
“This store is in a great location that will provide a better experience for those with diverse banking needs. Whether you’re seeking a mortgage or loan, planning for retirement or college, starting a business or whatever the need, we’ll have experts who can assist.”
In addition to the Yonkers store, Wells Fargo currently has 34 retail stores throughout Westchester County.
In celebration of the opening, Wells Fargo is presenting a $40,000 grant to the Yonkers-based Greyston Foundation, which is dedicated to eradicating poverty and improving the lives of people through workforce readiness training, financial education, health awareness, and employment programs.
“The initial reaction to the store has been fantastic and we’re excited to be here,” said Jonathan Perez, Yonkers store manager. “Besides helping customers with their financial needs, my team and I look forward to getting involved in local causes and volunteering.”
