Alamo Drafthouse Cinema combines food, drinks, films and events all under one roof. The company has been heralded for its unique programming, events and high exhibition standards, earning accolades like “Best Theater Ever” (Time Magazine) and “The Coolest Theater in the World” (Wired).
Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas provide a unique combination of theater and restaurant, showing the best in new releases and independent films, as well as special programming and events. The Alamo experience includes an extensive menu of made-from-scratch dishes prepared by Yonkers chef Lupe Gutierrez, as well as a local beer selection.
Customers order all food and drinks at their seats from servers who silently attend to them throughout the movie. In addition, the Alamo is famous for restoring civility to the cinematic experience via its strict “no talking, no texting” policy.
“After many months, we couldn’t be prouder to be opening up our first New York theater in Yonkers,” said Alamo founder Tim League. “I’m moving my family up for the opening, and I hope to get to know as many of our new neighbors as possible.”
Alamo Drafthouse Yonkers will feature six screens. Auditoriums will be equipped with the highest quality Sony 4k digital projection, equipped for both high-frame-rate and RealD 3D presentations.
The Alamo offers online reserved seating in all auditoriums.
Dine-in service is available in each auditorium. The menu at Alamo Yonkers will include signature favorites such as fresh baked pizzas, eight different burgers, and baked-to-order warm cookies. The menu also will feature seasonal local specials and, whenever possible, utilize locally sourced ingredients.
Alamo Drafthouse also is bringing additional jobs to Yonkers, hiring more than 100 employees locally. Alamo currently is accepting applications for managers, kitchen staff, bartenders and servers. Employment applications can be found online.
