Woman Fatally Hit By Car While Walking In Westchester

A 73-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while walking along a roadway in Westchester, authorities said.

The crash happened at the intersection of Pinebrook Boulevard and Amherst Drive in New Rochelle, police said.

The crash happened in New Rochelle just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, near the intersection of Pinebrook Boulevard and Amherst Drive, according to the New Rochelle Police Department. 

The victim was walking northbound on Pinebrook Boulevard when she was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by a 23-year-old woman, police said.

Emergency responders from the New Rochelle Fire Department and ambulance services provided immediate medical aid before transporting the victim to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation. Police said no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
