Snow Winds Down In Some Westchester County Areas

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Snow continued to fall and accumulate in Westchester Saturday night but was expected to taper off by 8 p.m.

An additional half inch of snow is expected to fall before 12:30 a.m., according to the National Weather Service website.

Snow totals are higher farther north and west, making driving treachersous. The New York State Thruway Authority has issued a speed restriction of 35 miles per hour in both directions on Interstate 87.

Saturday’s low was around 24 degrees with winds up to 18 miles per hour and gusts as high as 29 miles per hour.

Sunday and Monday will clear up until Monday night, when there will be a slight chance of snow showers.
