WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. The White Plains Tigers ice hockey team opened its season Friday as host of the White Plains High School Tigers Invitational Tournament with a 4-3 victory over Clarkstown at Ebersole Ice Rink.
Paul Varianos power-play goal, his second of the game, was the game-winner and came with just under eight minutes remaining. Kevin McGee and Drew Sobo each added a goal for the Tigers (1-0) and Sobo and Variano each had an assist.
