YORKTOWN, N.Y. — Actress and singer Alicia Keys has announced she is running the 2015 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The New York City Marathon broadcast is produced in partnership with IMG Productions and will be televised live Sunday on WABC-TV, Channel 7 in the New York Tri-State area from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pre-race coverage will be carried live from 7 to 9 a.m. and a highlight show runs from 4 to 6 p.m.
Singer, songwriter, record producer and actress Keys is a commercial success with her debut album, “Songs in A Minor,” which sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The album won five Grammy Awards in 2002, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year. She has sold over 35 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide.
In 2014, 8,500 charity runners raised a record $34.5 million, and Key’s decision to run for her charity, Keep a Child Alive, highlights the positive impact the race has on so many worthy causes. Keep a Child Alive is an official TCS New York City Marathon charity partner.
