Three public school districts in Westchester have signed on for a cost-saving statewide solar power initiative, according to a report from lohud.com.
The districts, Somers, Tarrytown and White Plains, all entered into signed agreements with the vendor chosen by bid, SolarCity, to contract with eligible schools, reported lohud.com.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo brought forth the initiative in 2014 and is helping schools apply for a "free solar installation program," said lohud.com.
