Charlie Norris is vice president of the board of education and is seeking a third term. He serves on the board's human resources and special education committees and is liaison to the White Plains recreation advisory committee.
Before joining the board in 2007, Norris served on the school district's annual budget committee and the strategic planning core team. He was the first male to serve as PTA president at White Plains High School. He has also served on the board of the White Plains Youth Soccer League.
The New York Law School graduate's law practice, Fiden & Norris, LLP, is baed in White Plains. He graduated from SUNY Stony Brook. He has lived in White Plains since 1987 and has two children who graduated from White Plains High School.
Sheryl Brady also seeks her third term on the board. She serves on the curriculum, human resources and police committees and is board liaison to the Westchester Putnam School Boards Association and to PTA Council.
Brady was formerly an assistant professor and chair of the Mathematics Department at Purchase College. She earned her bachelor's degree from Purchase College and her master's and PhD in Math from Cornell University.
Like Norris, Brady has also served on the district's strategic planning core team and annual budget committee. She is also a board of trustees member of Congregation Kol Ami.
The public will vote on the $192.95 million budget May 21 at their designated polling locations, which include: Ridgeway School; Highlands Middle School; Church Street School; Battle Hill Fire Station #5; Rochambeau School; and Mamaroneck Avenue School.

The budget increases spending by 2.19 percent and the tax rate by $17.71 to $583.21 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. The budget, adopted by the board April 8, would comply with the state-mandated tax cap.
