Digital Arts Experience Of White Plains Creates Mobile Classroom

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The Digital Arts Experience (DAE), a White Plains-basedlearning center that provides after school and summer programs in creativetechnology, announced the launch of its ?rst mobile computer lab.

The DAE team will be converting a Sprinter passenger vehicle into a mobile classroom, out?tting it with top of the line computers, a 3D printer and all essential technology to provide DAE classes off site.We have been providing quite a few offsite programs at schools and youth organizations over the past year, and weve recognized some issues that the mobile lab will resolve, says Rob Kissner, president of The DAE.

We work with some schools and organizations that have limited technology resources or space and others that have top ofthe line computer labs. By bringing our mobile lab to the school, we are evening the playing ?eld and providing a consistent, top level technology experience.

"Many organizations want to work with us, but cannot bring their students to White Plains,'' Kissner added. "Our lab will provide the experience of being at The DAE but with convenience of being able to come to you.

In addition, The DAE team has recognized that by taking students out of their normal school environment and into a cutting edge tech environment, students are more engaged and excited about what they are learning.

The vehicle chosen to create this lab is a Freightliner Sprinter due to its use of MercedesBluetec technology. In order to power the computers and technology, the vehicle will have to idle while a class is being delivered, and Bluetec technology allows for zero odor and near zero emissions at idle.

As a result, the vehicle can be parked right outside a school, library, retirement community and other venues without creating offensive odors or harmful fumes.

The conversion of the vehicle will be completed by Ai Design in Tuckahoe, a high end vehiclecustomization shop, who will be custom building desks, installing lighting, power, and a number of other customizations to convert the vehicle into an effective classroom.The classes range from local schools & youth organizations to private classes as well as parties at someones home.
