New Yorkers expect an improved financial year and the first woman president to be elected in 2016, according to a poll by Siena College Research Institute.
Most New Yorkers polled believe a Donald Trump presidency is unlikely and that Congress is unlikely to work on their behalf.
Forty-one percent also predicted a New York team in the Super Bowl and 36 percent expected a Mets vs. Yankees World Series.
Only 34 percent planned to make a New Year's resolution, with getting in shape and losing weight being the most popular choices.
