White Plains Spring/Summer Guide Now Available

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Mayor Thomas Roach invites residents to pick up a free spring/summer guide packed with information about the youth bureau, library and recreation programs.

"Our city guide showcases our vibrant community with its diverse array of programs, services, events and community partners," he said in a statement. "I encourage all of our residents to take advantage of the many programs and activities that the city of White Plains has to offer."

White Plains partnered with community organizations, such as the the White Plains Performing Arts Center, White Plains Outdoor Arts Festival, the YMCA and hospital to document programs for people of ages, including those with special needs.

The guide can be picked up at the library, city hall, the recreation and parks department headquarters and the senior center. Residents can stop by 85 Gedney Way to get a Webaccess pass, which will allow White Plains residents to register for city programs online. The Webaccess doesn't expire.

Besides environmental program listings and art and theater happenings, the guide has information about Code Red, a telephone notification service the city uses during emergencies, and Nixle, which alerts families when weather-related cancellation or delays alter games and other programs.
