WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. Margaret Peggy Luther Kurtz, formerly of White Plains, died March 27 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, Mass., following a brief illness. She was 90.
Kurtz worked as an administrative secretary at White Plains High School for more than 25 years.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 19, 1921 to Ward and Florence Luther. Upon her retirement from White Plains High School, she moved to Brooksby Village, Mass. where she lived for the past 30 years. Kurtz was an avid bridge player and enjoyed golf, a sport she took up after her retirement and thoroughly enjoyed right through her 85th year.
Surviving are her sons Robert (Key) of Ipswich, Mass., William (Diane) of Bethel, Conn. and James (Julie) of Ipswich, her daughter-in-law Pam of Hilton Head, S.C., eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Kurtz was predeceased by her husband Robert R. Kurtz, her son John Kurtz, her sister Helen Marette and her brother Ward Luther Jr.
Interment will be private at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale. Memorial donations may be made to the White Plains City School District, The Margaret L. Kurtz Memorial Scholarship, White Plains High School, 550 North St., White Plains, NY 10605. Funeral arrangements are under Campbell, Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home.
