Fishman was a senior trial attorney with the U.S. Treasury Department from 1972 to 1977. Since then, he has been in private practice, specializing in Federal, state and local income tax and estate and gift tax matters.
His career has involved corporate, business and individual tax matters, handling tax disputes with government tax agencies, working with nonprofit organizations, and estate planning. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Law and New York University School of Law, LLM in taxation.
During his tenure in the Rotary Club of White Plains, Fishman has participated in and chaired several committees including scholarships, fundraising, community service grants, service projects, photography, strategic planning, and new members.
He has built a reputation as a creative, dynamic leader who has recruited more members to the club than anyone else in recent history. He started the Rotary Means Business networking group, and is a director of the Rotary Means Business Fellowship of Rotary International.
Fishman also serves on the board of directors of Gift of Life, a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Rotary Clubs in District 7230. Gift of Life provides life-saving heart surgeries for indigent children from many parts of the world through special arrangements with the Westchester Medical Center's Maria Fareri Children's Hospital and Montefiore Medical Center.
