The arrest happened on Monday, Sept. 23, when a CVS location in Yonkers reported a shoplifter who walked out of the store without paying for dozens of items, Yonkers Police said on Friday, Sept. 27.

Officers soon caught up with the suspect, identified as Michael Donkis, and found two full garbage bags of stolen products, including a Slim Jim and other food products, according to body camera footage released by the department.

According to authorities, Donkis had stolen from the store several times on Monday, including an incident caught on camera by a bystander. After seeing this video online, the department coordinated a response in the area of the CVS to be prepared when Donkis returned, police said.

Donkis was later charged with a misdemeanor larceny. He also had an active warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance, the department added.

"Shoplifters beware- we work closely with our retail locations. They will report thefts to us and you will be found and arrested," the department said on social media.
