While stainless steel ranges, refrigerators, ovens, and microwaves add a fashionable touch to any kitchen, keeping these surfaces shiny can be more work than cooking a meal itself. Over time, ink, fingerprints, food residue and other scuff marks dull the surface of appliances. To fight back in the war on grime, Leiberts offers Frigidaire’s Gallery® and Professional® lines of Smudge-Proof™ appliances aimed at keeping kitchens sparkling clean.
While this might seem like technology from the future, “It has been around for a while,” says Frank Garnett, a Luxury Appliance Sales and Design Coordinator at Leiberts. “Europeans started smudge-proofing first, but appliances were never real stainless steel. Rather it was just a vinyl veneer to cover the metal.” Frigidaire’s Gallery® and Professional® Smudge-Proof™ lines are made of real stainless steel, finished with a specialized coating to repel daily dirt and grime. Unlike regular stainless steel, this finish allows the customer to have the flexibility to use magnets – a great feature for families.
While Smudge-Proof™ covering can help keep appliances clean from children's handprints, Garnett says the line is popular with a large cross section of consumers. "The Professional® line in particular gives the kitchen a more commercial feel with chunky handles and stainless steel, but without the major work of cleaning it."
Currently, Smudge-Proof™ is available for all Frigidaire Professional® and Gallery® refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, ranges, and ovens.
