The astronomical spring for the Northern Hemisphere begins Sunday, March 20 and ends on Sunday, June 19.
According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, the equinox happens at the same moment around the world astronomically.
However, spring officially begins on March 1 and continues through May 31 by meteorological standards, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac.
During the Vernal Equinox, the planet's tilt is zero relative to the Sun, said The Old Farmers Almanac.
Days and nights are almost equal on both hemispheres during an Equinox because the Sun's rays will shine on both hemispheres equally as it moves from the south to the north.
The arrival of spring also brings warm weather, the emergence of worms, blooming plants and the return of birds, said The Old Farmer's Almanac.
