The 38th Annual Westchester Cat show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23 and Sunday, Nov. 24 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains. The show includes a "Cat of the Year" ceremony and a Feline Fashion Show.

The "Cat of the Year" award will go to Jake, the therapy cat, in a special ceremony at 3 p.m. Saturday.

"Jake the therapy cat’s job is to bring his comfort to hospital and nursing home patients. And when his human companion was asked to bring him to one of the Boston Area hospitals where victims of the Boston Marathon bombings were being treated, she and Jake responded immediately," representatives said in a press release. "Amidst all the anguish that day in April, Jake and some of his therapy dog friends were able to calm and soothe the nerves of many folks."

Katherine Golden of Golden Pet Couture will produce the first feline fashion show to be presented at a World Cat Congress. Westchester Cat Show patrons will have a chance to preview Golden's designs at the Feline Fashion Shows through the weekend.

“The first feline fashion show that I ever heard about took place at the Westchester Cat Show, and I was amazed by the beautiful outfits designed by Carla Reiss, so for me to be coming to the Westchester Cat Show to put on my own feline fashion event, is like a fantasy come true,” Golden said in the release.

WHUD’s “Kacey” will be the guest emcee and Malika Samuel, of NICK Studio 10, and her kitty, Ferrara, will be participating in the fashion show on Saturday. Samuel is scheduled to be the emcee on Sunday.

The Westchester County Center is located at 198 Central Ave. in White Plains. Tickets at the door are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors and $6 for children.
