Chinese Students At White Plains' Berkeley College Visit IBM Center

YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- Chinese students who are in a business and management American cultural immersion program at Berkeley College in White Plains recently visited the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights.

The students are from from Guizhou University of Finance and Economics (GUFE), and the visit was part of their study to understand how American corporations work. 

In addition to classes taught at Berkeley College in English business communications, the program includes visits to local companies and American historical and cultural sites. Other visits have included the Federal Reserve Bank and United Nations in New York City and several locations in Washington, D.C. 

The American cultural immersion program is part of a collaborative agreement to educate students and train faculty from GUFE. About Guizhou University of Finance and Economics is the only comprehensive university of finance and economics in Guizhou Province, China, encompassing both its mainstream disciplines of economics and management, and other discipline categories such as law, literature, science, engineering and education. 

GUFE has three campuses that house more than 25,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 postgraduate students, offering 51 bachelor’s programs; seven primary discipline master’s programs; 48 subdiscipline master’s programs; and five professional master’s programs.
