Hummus Elite Brings The Middle East To Englewood
ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Giyora Malka is always looking to keep things fresh at Hummus Elite, a kosher restaurant that made a name for itself off a popular menu combination of soups, salads and, of course, hummus.
“When I built the restaurant, I said, ‘I don’t want a freezer because I want it fresh,’" Malka said.
For the most part, everything is made at the restaurant daily, including the soups and meat dishes.

Former Mahwah Mayor Robert P. Howard Dies At 84
MAHWAH, N.J. -- Former Mahwah Mayor Robert P. Howard died on Feb. 9 after suffering a stroke, his son said. He was 84.
Born in Lansing, Michigan, on Aug. 12, 1932, Howard served in the U.S. Navy during the 1950s, earning the rank of seaman, cryptologic technician striker, a position that involved national intelligence gathering.
Howard graduated from New York University with a master's degree in music and appeared on Broadway in shows such as “The Music Man.”
