The district’s Board of Education made the announcement on Wednesday, March 2.
“After comprehensive interviews by the board, Mr. Borsari emerged as the top choice to lead our district in the coming years,” the board said in a statement. “The Board of Education is confident that everyone in the district will agree with this assessment after getting to know Mr. Borsari.”
According to the district, Borsari must meet with various community and district stakeholders, allowing all of the groups to provide the board with feedback about Borsari’s qualifications.
The board expects Borsari will be approved after these meetings and formally appointed to the position later this month.
Though his service with the district will begin in a limited role almost immediately, he will not officially begin his work with the school district until July 1.
Borsari, who has served for more than eight years as Byram Hills High School principal, previously served as assistant principal, assistant to the athletic director and teacher at the middle school. He holds a master’s degree in education from Manhattanville College and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Virginia.
The board began its search for the superintendent in August, involving Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, (HYA). According to the district’s statement, HYA interviewed 43 people before concluding Borsari was the best for the job.
