Audience Pitches In At Sleepy Hollow High School's Winter Concert

SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. -- Sleepy Hollow High School held a winter concert Tuesday, Dec. 8, that featured performances by the school’s jazz band, chorus, and orchestra, and, in one especially poignant moment,  the audience itself.

At Sleepy Hollow High School's recent Winter Concert, chorus director Gail Persad added a song to the program -- John Lennon's "Imagine" -- and asked the audience to sing along.

Students performed holiday favorites like "Let It Snow" and "All I Want for Christmas;" moving numbers like "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables; and jazzy tunes like Louis Prima's "Jump, Jive an' Wail."

In one of the most moving moments of the evening, school officials said, was when chorus director Gail Persad invited the audience to join in as students sang John Lennon's "Imagine."

Persad said that 2015 had been a difficult year worldwide, adding that Tuesday was the anniversary of the former Beatle's death.
