Greenwich Police Department investigators say they responded to Downstate Correctional Facility (121 Red Schoolhouse Road in Fishkill, New York) on Tuesday, April 29 in order to take 29-year-old Vincent Chambless of Port Chester, New York into custody.

Greenwich Police say they stopped Chambless for a motor vehicle violation on Dec. 17, 2018. He allegedly fled the scene on foot but was later found and arrested.

Officers then allegedly obtained a search warrant for Chambless’s vehicle. When executed, officers say they seized a quantity of narcotics and prescription medications not prescribed to Chambless from the vehicle.

Police then obtained a warrant for Chambless’s arrest.

Chambless was turned over to Greenwich Police Department investigators and processed without incident, according to police. He was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of a controlled substance.

Chambless was released after posting $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday, May 15.
