Westchester Homeowner Scares Off Potential Auto Burglar, Police Say

A potential theft from a parked car in Northern Westchester may have been interrupted by a homeowner who spotted the suspect and scared him off.

Investigators from the North Castle Police Department received a report shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, from a Hissarlik Way resident who reported that a man had just walked up to her driveway and attempted to gain access to her vehicle.

According to police, the suspect was described as a white man wearing a baseball hat. He reportedly fled when she began banging on her house window at him.

Officers responded to the scene to investigate without luck. A canvas of the area was negative. The incident remains under investigation. Check Daily Voice for any updates.
