Police Seek Information About Robbery In M&T Bank Parking Lot In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh Police are seeking information about a robbery that occurred in a parking lot of M&T Bank at 218-1 Saw Mill River Road in Elmsford on Monday, Aug. 4.

The preliminary investigation disclosed that at approximately 10:40 a.m., a 43-year-old female left the bank with an undetermined amount of cash that she had just withdrawn.

Police said the female was approached in the parking lot by a male as she was placing the cash into the trunk of her car, described as a 2005 Honda Accord color gray. The male demanded that the female surrender her money. No weapon was displayed, however, the suspect gestured in such a manner that led the victim to believe that he was armed, according to police.  According to police, the suspect is described as a male-black, 25-30 years old, approximately 5-foot-8 with a medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with brown and yellow lettering on the front.

The male fled on foot, east on Payne Street and was then observed running north on Lawn Avenue, according to police.

Greenburgh police detectives responded to the location to conduct a follow up investigation. Uniformed patrol officers searched the area for the suspect who is still at large at this time. The Westchester County Police Department assisted in the search for the suspect providing K-9 support as well as additional officers in the search of the surrounding area. There were no reported injuries.  The Greenburgh Police are seeking the public’s assistance in this investigation.
