TARRYTOWN, N.Y. – A 23-year-old student at the EF International Academy is accused of trespassing after he drunkenly mistook a River Terrace home for the school, Tarrytown police said.
Tarrytown police say a homeowner called 911 at about 4 a.m. March 9 to report that a man was banging on the front door. When police interviewed the man, he appeared highly intoxicated, showed his student ID and told officers that he thought he was at the EF School, police said.
The man was taken back to the EF School, police said. The homeowner contacted police on March 11 to pursue a trespass charge, a violation.
Police also reported the following items:
- A landscaper began cutting down a tree on Wildey Street on March 9 without a proper permit. Police said he was later issued a village code violation.
- A woman reported on March 8 she was driving south on Depot Plaza across from American Independent Paper when she crossed onto the Metro-North property and struck a raised set of train tracks. The move damaged her car's undercarriage and set off the air bags.
- A Tarrytown fire truck hit a woman's car on South Broadway on March 8.
- Firefighters and Con Edison were notified after a downed wire began arcing across the road at Neperan Road and Tower Hill Road on March 8.
- A woman was rescued after she got stuck in an elevator at about 9 a.m. March 8.
- Ursula Hall at the EF School was evacuated March 7 at about 10 p.m. when a dryer in the fourth floor laundry room began smoking and set off the fire alarm. Firefighters stopped the smoke and reported an EF School employee had fallen and hit her head in the dormitory lobby. The woman was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
- A South Broadway resident reported March 7 that someone had used her debit card to purchase airline tickets worth $1,287.
