I-287 Stop Leads To DWI Charge For Westchester Man With BAC More Than Twice Limit

A Westchester man is facing DWI charges after driving on I-287 with a BAC more than twice the legal limit, according to police.

New York State Police say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-87 in the town of Greenburgh on Monday, May 13 around 2 a.m.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Manuel Merchan-Cedillo of Port Chester, was found to be intoxicated, according to police.

Merchan-Cedillo was arrested, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where police his BAC was tested at .18.

Merchan-Cedillo was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as vehicle and traffic violations.

Merchan-Cedillo was ticketed and turned over to a sober third party. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Greenburgh Court on Friday, June 7.
