Danbury Man Charged With DUI After Two-Vehicle Crash In Wilton

A man from Danbury is facing DUI charges following a two-car crash in Wilton, according to police.

Wilton Police responded to the area of Route 7/Route 107 on a report of a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday, Nov. 20 around 11:45 p.m.

While speaking with the driver of one of the vehicles, identified as William Areson, 33, of Danbury, police say the odor of alcohol was detected.

Areson was subsequently asked to participate in a series of sobriety tests, which police say he did not pass.

Areson was arrested and transported to headquarters, where police say his blood-alcohol level was tested at .2003.

Areson was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and following too closely. He was released after posting a $260 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court on Monday, Dec. 2.
