Since the virus was first reported in New Rochelle before rapidly spreading more than six months ago, there have now been 38,182 confirmed COVID cases in Westchester out of 38,182 tested, according to the state's Department of Health.

The percentage of positive results for those tested in Westchester held steady at 5.8 percent, down from 5.9 percent late last week.

There were no new fatalities reported overnight, keeping the total at 1,456 COVID-19-related deaths in Westchester since March.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo noted that 23 percent of the new positive cases came from just 20 zip codes across the state, representing 6 percent of the state's population.

Of those 20 zip codes, one - 10801 (New Rochelle) - made the list. According to the state, there were 137 tested, leading to four positive results a 3 percent positivity rate ahead of the state's 1.3 percent rate.

Cuomo said that with those 20 zip codes identified, they will begin concentrating their testing and compliance efforts at those localities, including in Westchester.
