In attendance were a handful of local officials, including First Selectman Jim Marpe, State Sen. Toni Boucher, State Rep. Gail Lavielle and Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce President Matthew Mandell.

The quartet aided in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with staff from Companions & Homemakers, including regional manager Jonathan Hunt.

After the ceremony, there was an open house for all in attendance, from guests to staff and prospective clients.

“We have hit the ground running with this new office,” said Hunt. “The Westport location is proving to be an asset in recruiting new caregivers and clients in central and lower Fairfield County. We continually strive to do what’s necessary to be a good employer and to serve our clients.”

The office opened three weeks earlier, as the organization recently moved from Fairfield.

Companions & Homemakers has 11 offices throughout the state, and has been in business for 25 years.
