Whether it's helping a resident plan for retirement or working with Toys for Tots, it's all the same.
"I love to help people. It sounds corny, but it's true. Whether I'm helping to fundraise or volunteering at a community event, or helping people work toward their most important financial goals, I just really enjoy helping people," Flash said.
Flash, who joined Edward Jones in 2009, opened the firm's first Brewster branch in 2011, in an effort to bring the business to the people rather than bringing people to the business. As an Edward Jones financial adviser, his job is to understand his client's financial goals and to help them achieve those goals.
"Personal relationships are key, and meeting face to face builds those strong relationships," he said.
For Flash, that decision has paid off.
"We have so much diversity in our community, such a wonderful cross-section of people, each with their personal and unique goals. It's great to have a business right here where I live so I can help the friends and neighbors that I've enjoyed in this community for the past 22 years," he said.
But it's not all about making money. It's also important is it to be involved in the Brewster community, Flash says, and to give back.
"Part of the reason why I love working right here where we live is that it makes me available to participate in so many efforts that give back to the community," Flash added.
When he's not working, you'll find Flash, serving as vice president of the Brewster Chamber of Commerce and president of the Patterson Rotary Club or serving on the committee for the town of Southeast Fireworks Celebration. In addition, he gives his time to Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots, Putnam CAP, Relay for Life, Putnam Family and Community Services, and many other local organizations.
