Back in 1907, bands played on the balcony of the bathing pavilion while patrons danced. Mandatory clothing on the beach meant men wore bathing suits with tops and women wore swimming dresses with black stockings. Bathing suits could be rented for 20 cents.
In 1910, parking was considered an issue. Visitors to the park complained that parked cars didn't leave enough room for horses and carriages.
The park also had jail cells for disorderly visitors who were later brought to the police station.
