Now in its sixth year, the weekly farmers market is expanding with four new vendors and more likely to come for its 2014 opening at Patriot's Park on Broadway, Saturday, May 24.
Market manager Nicole Reed said the market is expanding and likely to keep growing. She described the newest Down to Earthers who will add variety of baked goods, produce, honey and foods to the already popular market.
"One of the things we're happy to offer this year is more food to eat at the market," Reed said. "With its home in Patriot's Park, this is one of the most beautiful farmers markets around. By adding Nana's Home Kitchen and Eloide's Farm Bakery, now we have a greater offering of both savory and sweet foods for people to enjoy on site. People can have breakfast or lunch, as well as complete the week's grocery shopping, all at the market."
Reed said the market offerings change as the local harvest changes.
"In June, the strawberries will come in, and people will gather for those," she said. "In the high summer, the corn, tomatoes, watermelon and other summer favorites really draw people in. We see a lot of market excitement around the fall, too, with pumpkins, squash, Brussels sprouts and more. Also, many people seek out the market's pasture-raised meats and eggs, as well as the fresh fish."
The market will also host Music at the Market with Deuces Child on Saturday. The duo of Gigi Tanglewood and Lou Patrick will sing and perform with acoustic guitars from 10 a.m.-noon.
The newest Down to Earth vendors are:
Eloide’s Farm Bakery: With 25 years of baking experience, Tony Mifsud is launching his own venture. He’ll bring freshly baked breads, focaccia, muffins, croissants, pies, coffee cakes, and more – all made from scratch.
Fishkill Farms: Fruits, vegetables and more from this 100-year-old farm in Hopewell Junction.
Honeybrook Farms: 100 percent pure, raw, unprocessed, uncooked local honey.
Nana’s Home Kitchen: Both savory and sweet Middle Eastern foods, including everything from baklava, spinach pies, hummus varieties and more.

Brookside Farm: Pasture-raised meats, poultry and eggs from Ulster County.
Gajeski Produce: Fresh, seasonal vegetables, grown on Long Island.
Mead Orchards: Fruits and vegetables cultivated on the banks of the Hudson River.
Meredith’s Bread: Breads and baked goods, including a full line of delicious gluten-free products.
Pickle Licious: Voted 2013 Best Pickles, Olives, & Hummus by Bergen Health and Life magazine.
Pura Vida Fisheries: Third generation of Lofstad fishermen reel in the fresh catch off of Long Island.
The Tarrytown Farmers Market is open from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 22.
