Segal, who lives in Yonkers, began her career studying and practicing her interest in sculpture abroad in France and Italy. The European Renaissance and Baroque master work she encountered in those environments, particularly the surface textures and patterns, heavily influenced her development as an artist and current work, according to a release from Yonkers Arts.

Today, Segal creates pop and fashion icons such as delicate-looking dresses and purses, in rare and exquisite stones, merging traditional sculptural techniques with modern technologies, the release said.

Her work can be found in notable permanent collections, including Neuberger Museum, the White House, and private collections, such as Leslie Wexner of Unlimited, Malcolm Forbes, among many others.

Segal will provide an insight to her life and career in the arts and will discuss the tools, techniques and inspiration for her unique sculptures.

This Yonkers Arts-hosted event is the first in a series of planned networking events featuring a guest speaker. This event is Intended to bring the Yonkers arts and cultural community together; it's open to the public and all are welcome.

Guests can expect to meet other individuals engaged in the vibrant and rapidly growing arts community in Yonkers, according to the release.

Light refreshments will be available. More information can be found at www.yonkersarts.net, as well as the Yonkers Arts official fan page on Facebook.
