Long Island Expressway Stretch Reopens After Serious Crash In Suffolk

A stretch of the Long Island Expressway has reopened after a serious crash caused its closure at the height of the morning commute.

All westbound lanes were shut down at Exit 51 in Dix Hills for an accident investigation, Suffolk County Police said at 7:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10.

The lanes reopened around 9:45 a.m.
