All Long Island University campuses will be closed on Thursday, Aug. 8 due to an unspecified social media threat.
"Yesterday, the FBI advised the university of a non-specific threat that they do not deem credible," the university said in a statement. "However, the university has chosen to act with an abundance of caution in light of recent tragedies in Texas and Ohio.
"All student and employee residents will maintain access to campus housing."
Summer classes are in session at both LIU Post and LIU Brooklyn.
The LIU community is being asked by the university to "continue checking your email and mobile devices for additional information."
