Woman Steals Dog From Front Sidewalk Of Long Island Home, Police Say

A dog thief is at large on Long Island and authorities are asking the public's help in locating her.

The Nassau County Police Department Second Squad is investigating the incident that occurred on Monday, Aug. 12 at about 3:10 p.m. in Levittown and was reported to police on Thursday, Aug. 15.

According to detectives, the unknown woman removed the small black-and-white dog from the front sidewalk of a Saucer Lane residence.

Detectives request anyone with any information regarding the dog’s location or the identity of the female to contact Second Squad Detectives at (516) 573-6253. All callers will remain anonymous.
