Angel Alexander-Adolphe, age 23, was arrested Saturday, June 11, in West Hempstead, according to Nassau County Police.

Officers were responding to a disturbance on Hempstead Turnpike near Oakland Avenue at around 1 a.m. when they found Alexander-Adolphe and a 25-year-old man in a physical altercation, police said.

When they attempted to arrest her, she began resisting, injuring an officer on his knee and leg, according to police.

Alexander-Adolphe and the officer were both taken to a hospital for treatment and the woman was medically cleared, police said.

During another transport, she again became combative and kicked an officer who was seated in the back of a police vehicle with her, according to police. The officer suffered injuries to his hand and wrist.

She reportedly kicked a second officer as they tried to restrain her, causing “substantial” pain to his right calf and ankle, according to police.

Alexander-Adolphe, who police say is homeless, was again taken to a hospital for assessment, as were the two injured officers.

She was charged with three counts of assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and two counts of harassment.

She was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead Sunday, June 12.
