Woman Critically Injured When SUV Overturns On Sunrise Highway In Suffolk

A 22-year-old woman was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash.

It happened on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at approximately 9:05 a.m. in Manorville.

The woman, Blanca Vilma Soyos-Cordon, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero westbound on Sunrise Highway (Route 27), west of Exit 59, when she lost control of her vehicle and it overturned, Suffolk County Police said.

Soyos-Cordon was taken by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition. There were no other injuries reported.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
