Shots rang out in broad daylight outside a Long Island home, police said.

The Nassau County Police Department is investigating reports of gunshots that were fired at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30 on State Street in New Cassel.

According to police, a 37-year-old man was meeting with an acquaintance, who was riding a bicycle, on State Street. The acquaintance allegedly then displayed a gun, fired multiple shots at the man - none of which struck him - and fled on the bicycle.

The suspect was described by police as a Hispanic man who was 19 or 20 years old. Anyone with information regarding the incident has been asked to contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-224-TIPS.
