A suspect is at large after a man and woman were stabbed during a robbery at a Long Island residence.

It happened on Sunday, Jan. 26 at 3:20 a.m. in Uniondale.

Nassau County Police Department officers responded to a call on Hempstead Boulevard for a possible stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers entered through an open side door and found a 42-year-old man with multiple stab wounds, said police.

As officers began to render aid to the victim, another victim, a 44-year-old woman, was found, also with stab wounds, according to police.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined that an unknown male suspect entered the residence and demanded money from the victims, police said.

A confrontation ensued and the suspect stabbed the victims with a knife, according to police.

The suspect left the scene in an unknown direction.

The victims were rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
