Bruce Roman, 28, eas arrested Wednesday, July 21 at 11:57 p.m. after a Patchogue resident called 911 to report someone trespassing on his property on Wilmarth Avenue, according to Suffolk County Police.

Fifth Precinct officers responded to the address where they reportedly found Bruce Roman squatting in a boat on the property and recovered tools and a BB gun that had been stolen from the resident’s garage, said police.

Upon questioning, Roman reportedly admitted to also burglarizing Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, located at 495 North Ocean Ave., North Patchogue on Tuesday, July 16.

Fifth Squad detectives charged Roman, who they say is (homeless) with two counts of third-degree burglary.

He is being held overnight at the Fifth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday, Aug. 1.
