Police Search For Suspect In Armed Robbery At Long Island Auto Dealership

A man who pointed a gun at a used car salesman's head during a prospective transaction is on the loose after stealing cash and other items during an armed robbery on Long Island, police said.

Police said that a man walked into Top Choice Auto Inc. on Sunrise Highway in Massapequa Park at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Friday, July 10, inquiring about purchasing a vehicle.

While speaking with a 52-year-old employee, the suspect pulled out a black pistol and pointed it at the employee’s head, demanding money and his belongings.

According to police, the employee complied and handed over his cell phone, a Rolex watch, cash, and other items. The suspect then fled on foot on Sunrise Highway in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries reported during the incident.

The suspect has been described as being an African American man between the ages of 25 and 30. He is approximately 6-foot-1 weighing 180 pounds with a medium build. At the time of the armed robbery, the suspect was wearing a grey hoodie, dark jeans, and a black face mask.
