Police: LI Man In Possession Of Cocaine Caught After Fleeing On Foot When Chase Ends In Crash

A driver who led two different police officers on car chases was found in possession of cocaine after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a guard rail.

Joel Foster of West Babylon, 32, reportedly spun out after exiting the Sagtikos Parkway in Islip on Pine Aire Drive, Suffolk County Police said. 

He was transported to Southside Hospital for minor injuries after his crash, which took place after the chase began on Saturday, Sept. 12 at approximately 3:35 p.m.

Foster was charged with:

  • third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell (felony)
  • third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (felony),
  • third-degree unlawful fleeing (misdemeanor).
