Massive Suffolk County House Fire Displaces Seven

A two-story Long Island home was devasted by a massive fire that ripped through the home quickly.

The fire started around 10 .m., Wednesday, Dec. 2, at the home in Coram in the basement of the home and quickly moved to the second floor, and the attic, officials said.

The fire then quickly spread to the first floor, when the second floor collapsed, causing firefighters to leave exit the residence, according to Stringer News.

The home's occupants, five children, and two adults were able to escape without injury. 

More than five fire departments responded to the home located at 6 Hagen Court, officials said.

The Brookhaven Fire Marshal’s office is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
