The Nassau County Police Department issued an alert this week following a burglary at BP Gas Station on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

According to police, an employee arrived into work on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and noticed that several cigars had been removed from the boxes.

A review of the surveillance video determined that an African-American man entered the gas station through a security cash drawer at approximately 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

He then removed the cigars from the store and left through the same security cash drawer, fleeing in an unknown direction, police said.

The suspect was described as being African American with dreadlocks, a white shirt, black jeans and he was wearing a white bandana covering his face at the time of the robbery.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery has been asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-224-TIPS.
