Man Stabbed During LI Restaurant Fight, Police Say

A 21-year-old was beaten and stabbed during a fight with a man at a Long Island restaurant.

The incident took place in Farmingdale around 2 a.m., Sunday, March 5 at the Dominican Restaurant 4 located at 305 Main St.

According to Nassau County Police detectives, the Martin Carpio, age 35, of Bellmore, entered Dominican Restaurant 4 and got into a verbal dispute with several patrons of the restaurant. 

The dispute escalated and turned into pushing and shoving. Eventually, both men were removed to the street, police said.

The dispute continued and Carpio stabbed the victim causing injuries to the victim including deep lacerations and a punctured lung. 

A male who was with the victim punched Carpio who fell to the ground and lost consciousness, police said.

Eighth Precinct police arrived and Carpio and the victim were both transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Carpio was charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Assault 
  • Two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

He will be arraigned when medically practical.
